A large handmade stoneware pedestal bowl with a broad, open form and raised foot. The exterior is finished in layered matte charcoal, soft grey and muted cream, with a hand-applied botanical pattern and a softly weathered, timeworn surface. The interior is finished in deep charcoal.
At 12 inches in diameter, the bowl has enough scale to work as a dining-table centerpiece, fruit bowl or serving bowl. It can also be displayed on its own as a sculptural ceramic object.
Each bowl is individually made and finished by hand. Variations in form, surface, pattern and glaze are part of the piece.
